“ After an afternoon visiting Howarth, home of the Brontë sisters, we fancied a chippie tea and had heard good reviews about Greenside mainly as they cook in beef dripping! Tiny little chip shop but oh my goodness, fab service and top marks for food! Freshly cooked to order on fish and some other options so you’re asked when you enter what you’d like. Means a little wait but so worth it. I had a medium fish, chunky white flesh really soft and tasty but it’s the batter! Dark brown in colour and delicious. Chips are old style, takes me back to my childhood eating beef dripping chips out of newspaper all wet with vinegar! They use a vintage vinegar too so the chips are soft inside, crispy outside and taste fantastic. Thoroughly enjoyed our chippie tea! Really good value for money. Medium fish chips and curry sauce (don’t judge me!) was just over £6. ”

“ Been going here for just over a year now and the food has never disappointed me. This is the best fish and chip shop Ive ever been to. The fish and chips are cooked in beef dripping and have never been soggy it’s always crispy and delicious. The owner James is friendly and knows a lot of his regular customers. ”

“ I go and get fish and chips from here quite often and its an extreamly pleasent experience, staff are always lovely and the quality of the food never dissapoints. Sometimes it can get slightly crowded, but that is not their fault which is why I've only deducted one star for atmosphere as when it is busy in there it can be quite an uncomfortable space to be in, but they only have little room in there to work with. Staff are always really nice and accomodating, especially if you need to use separate methods of payment, even when the card machine was broken they still managed to keep the buisness up and running as usual. ”

“ Wow this place ticks all the boxes when you are looking for a fantastic chippy. Fish moist and tasty, wrapped in delicious crispy batter. The chips were unreal, can't think of an actual word to describe them but they are like mini roast potatoes in chip form, crispy outside and amazingly fluffy inside and tasted so so good. Another big plus from me which some people may not care about was the vinegar, it actually had a kick to it not like some chip shops where you can't taste it!! Top effort will be back when next in Pudsey ”
